Fixing the 800
The Bruker tech guys came by to upgrade our version of xwinnmr to topspin because of some new feature that would help with our D2O lock... anyway, by the time they got that done something in the new software misconfigured information that probably led to the burnout of a resistor on the Shim-Lock-Control Board. Then the shim stack became suspect. Before we knew it we had to warm up the cryo probe and pull the shimstack out of the bore of the magnet. Anyway, after almost a week of trouble shooting, pulling the new shimstack out and fixing it and replacing the new Bruker control board we finally got the 800 back, and I was able to start up my titration. I learned a lot from John, and the other Bruker guys that did the maintenance on the spectrometer. I really appreciate the expertise of the Bruker engineers. It is sure a beautiful instrument.
